ADC Anantnag reviews preparation for revision of Panchayat Electoral Rolls

SHRC directs Govt to pay Rs 5 lakh to PDD daily wager

ANANTNAG, OCT 06: To review the preparations for the revision of Panchayat Electoral Rolls 2017, a meeting of EROs and AEROs was today held under the chairmanship of ADC Anantnag Shabir Hussain Bhat here at DC Office Anantnag.

Among others, the meeting was attended by ACR, SDMs of Pahalgam, Dooru, Kokernag & Bijbehara, ACD, and all BDOs of the district.

On the occasion, the ADC said that the process of draft publication shall start from October 7. He directed the concerned officers to take appropriate measures for filing of claims and objections, besides, additions, deletions, correction and transposition. The AEROs were also directed to mobilize the VLWs/ MPWs/ GRS and BLOs at polling locations to organize special camps from October 8 to 11.

It was given out that the disposal of claims and objections by concerned EROs shall take place from 14 to 23 October while as the updation & printing of final electoral rolls shall take place from  24 October to 4 November.

In order to check the double entries in the electoral rolls, the ADC directed all the concerned to ask for Permanent Resident Certificates at the time of new additions.
