Srinagar, Oct 29: Expressing deep shock and grief over his demise, Minister for Education Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today described Abdul Hamid Guru as a noble and gentle soul who always craved for peace and harmony in Kashmir.
Prominent workers of PDP Amirakadal Zone held a condolence meeting under the chairmanship of Bukhari at Shiekhbagh and later visited Rajbagh to express their solidarity with the braved family.
Recalling the magnanimity of the deceased, Bukhari termed Late Guru as a great host who had a vast social base comprising of people of different shades of opinion and belonging to all walks of life.
“Late Guru Saheb will be remembered as one of the most sought after personality who had witnessed important political and cultural developments in Kashmir. His demise has created a void hard to be filled,” Bukhari remarked.
He said that Late Guru was very popular for his innate etiquettes and socialization with friends which will surely be seen as a huge loss for the society.
“Everybody who knew him is saddened by the loss of Late Guru Saheb. We offer our condolences to his family and friends at such a difficult time. I am grateful to have known him among the close associates of Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Saheb,” he observed.
Bukhari prayed for an eternal peace to the departed soul and endurance for the family and friends of the deceased to bear this irreparable loss. (KNS)
