A galaxy of writers, poets, scholars, teachers and students are participating
Srinagar, Oct 12: The 38th two-day annual literary conference of Adbee Markaz Kamraz Jammu and Kashmir (AMK) will begin in North Kashmir’s Bandipora District on October 14(Saturday). A galaxy of writers, poets, scholars, teachers and students from across the state are participating in the mega event.
Adbee Markaz Kamraz J&K the state’s oldest and largest literary organisation is organising its 38th annual Literary Conference in Wular Valley College of Education Papchan Bandipora from14th October. The conference being hosted by Literary Forum Bandipora will conclude on 15th October Sunday.
The annual conference will see the participation of over 500 guests’ arriving from in and outside the state including writers, academicians, scholars, civil society members and poets in the several sessions of literary debates and discourses. AMKJ&K President Dr. Syed Shujaat Bukhari will deliver the keynote address during the inaugural session while AMK General Secretary Muhammad Amin Bhat will present the annual report.
A theme paper titled ‘Lack of Protest poetry elements in Kashmiri Literature’ will be presented by researcher Dr. Nissar-un-Nabi followed by the debate and discussion. AMK will present its annual awards Sharf-e-Kamraz and Best Book Award in the memory of Late Ali Mohammad Shahbaz at this year’s conference.
Mohiuddin Hajini gold medal will be conferred to a student who has topped the postgraduate university level examination in Kashmiri subject during the year.
In view of Prof Mahiudin Hajini’s centenary celebrations, a session titled “Hajini and Kashmiri identity” will be dedicated to him and the extension lecture will be delivered by Justice (retd) Bashir Ahmad Kirmani on the subject. Besides a grand mushaira a session has been devouted to discuss teaching of Kashmiri in schools. Secretary AMK Mir Tariq said that all the arrangements have been made to make the conference a success. “Delegates from all over the state including Jammu, Chenab valley and Pir Panchal region are attending the two day conference” he said.
