The workers earlier after Divisional Commissioner, Basser Ahmad Khan’s assurance called off their strike and had said that they will protest again in case the government fails to fulfil their demands till Sep 30.

The workers who held a day-long sit-in today were demanding government to increase their monthly honorarium upto Rs 14000 per month.
The protesters said that the government has miserably failed to look into the issues pertaining to the Anganwadi workers, who are working are serving the department on meagre amount.
They according to KNS correspondent said that the government a few days ago assured them that their demands will be looked into but unfortunately nothing has been done in this regard. “The government made hoax promises with the hundreds of Anagwandi workers so far, causing immense hardships to their families,” they said.
They also said that the most of the workers are the sole bread earners of their families but the government is ignoring their plights. “The government must put an immediate to our sufferings by enhancing our monthly honorarium at par with the rest of the states,” they demanded.
“We are serving the department with dedication and honesty but the government is turning their eye blind towards our plights,” they said, adding that the government should have increased the monthly honorarium of the workers upto Rs 14000 per month.
Protesters said that the government has assured them several times that their genuine demands will be fulfilled soon but unfortunately all the promises and assurances done with them proved hoax on the ground.
“Every successive regime has failed to fulfil its promises done with the Anganwadi workers,” they said, adding that the government should take immediate steps in this regard to put an immediate end to the sufferings of people.
They said that they will continue to protest against the government till the demands won’t meet. (KNS)
