Srinagar, Oct 20: safeguarding the honor of mothers, sisters, daughters is important but attacking and hurting innocents in this name gruesome and criminal. Unabated attacks on Kashmiri women and failure of so-called rulers and their police in stopping these highly condemnable. This was stated by the chairman of JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik while appealing people to show restraint and magnanimity while dealing with this issue. Also on JRL call JKLF leaders and activists along with people from all walks of life staged a laudable protest rally against growing attacks on Kashmiri women.
JKLF leaders and activists including zonal general secretary sheikh Abdul Rashid, Zonal vice president Muhammad Sideeq Shah, Zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, zonal press in charge Ashraf bin Salam, Muhammad Azeem Zargar and many others along with people from many walks of life gathered at Sarai Balla today and marched towards Amira Kadal where they staged a peaceful sit-in. protesters were holding placards in their hands and were raising slogans against growing attacks on women folk. JKLF leaders Sheikh Abdul Rashid and Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri addressed the protesters. Terming these attacks as cowardly acts of hidden enemies, speakers said that growing attacks on women and ugly acts of braid chopping are a direct attack on our self-respect and no Kashmiri can bear these attacks anymore. Speakers said that Kashmiri mothers, sisters and daughters are under attack from some veiled enemy but so-called rulers, their police and other agencies remain absolutely clueless about it. So-called rulers are busy riding scooters and organizing music concerts and their forces and agencies are calling this menace as mere frenzy and hysteria. JKLF leaders said that Hundreds of our sisters have been left traumatized by unidentified attackers and police and forces who take no time to identify everyone till now claim no breakthrough.
Terming recent incidents wherein many innocents have been beaten, tortured and injured by unruly mobs, JKLF chairman in his message said that attacking, lynching, hurting and injuring innocents in the name of braid chopping is shameful and those indulging in this practice are actually harming the sacred cause of Kashmiris and actually helping the cause of hidden enemy. Terming the attack on a mentally unsound person at Sopore as regrettable, JKLF chairman said that we cannot lead our society to anarchy where there is no distinction between an innocent and a guilty. Emphasizing on the need of unity to fight this menace, JKLF chairman said that while dealing with the menace of braid cutting, we should enhance our society based vigil but deal with nobility, restraint and magnanimity. We cannot become unruly and rude and push our whole society towards anarchy in the name of braid chopping. Our vigil should continue but under the command of elders and Masjid committees and if during our vigil somebody suspicious is seen or caught, he should be brought to elders and Masjid committees members and investigated properly so that no innocent gets harmed..
Meanwhile human rights commission today adjourned the cases of Syeda Asiya Andrabi and 17 youth who have been falsely inducted in DSP lynching case till 23rd of October 2017. The cases were listed for hearing today but due to some unavoidable circumstances, respected Commission adjourned these till 23rd.
Also JKLF has paid rich tributes to martyr Ghulam Mohi ud din Bhat of Bogam Budgam who was injured in a grenade attack on 7th September 2017 and breathed his last recently. A JKLF delegation comprising of Nazir Ahmad, Molvi Abdul Rashid and Tikka Khan visited the bereaved family and expressed solidarity with them
