Locals aghast, officials say will complete the process in one month
Srinagar, Oct 16: Even after the passage of almost six months since the competition of the bore-well scheme by the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department, the authorities are yet to make the system functional for the general public, resulting in immense hardships to them.
The locals informed KNS that the authorities in the PHE department started work for the bore-well scheme aimed to provide water supply to the far flung areas. “The project was completed in March this year, but unfortunately the authorities are yet to make it functional,” locals said.
Sources said that the scheme was scheduled to complete in September this year.
They said that every process has been done except the erection of solution chamber. “The authorities don’t bother to look into the matter, which has caused a lot of hardships to the general public who were scheduled to get water through this scheme,” they said.
They appealed the authorities to look into the matter at the earliest so that the local populace here could feel a sigh of relief.
Executive Engineer Handwara, Najeeb Tramboo told KNS that the scheme will be made functional in one month. “All the pending process will be done in one month and will be made functional in one month,” he said. (KNS
