DC Ganderbal pays surprise visit to Trauma Hospital Kangan

Ganderbal, Oct 04: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Dr Piyush Singla paid a surprise visit to the Government Trauma Hospital Kangan to inspect the functioning of the institution, besides taking stock of the services being made available to the patients here in Central Kashmir’s District Ganderbal on Tuesday. 

DC during the visit inspected various units of the hospital and enquired about the facilities being provided to the patients.

The Deputy Commissioner also took stock of the operation theaters, ortho, xRay and drug stores.

He asked the hospital authorities to ensure proper maintenance of all crucial equipments in these vital units for larger interest of the ailing, ensuring punctuality and maintaining roaster register of medicos and para-medicos so that the patients do not face any inconvenience. 

Dr Piyush impressed upon them to maintain utmost levels of sanitation and ensure hygienic environment in the hospital which is pre-requisite for health of the patients. he also directed the hospital to employ proper waste management techniques including conscious waste segregation and disposal.

He also directed MS to ensure the services of two senior doctors during night hours in hospital, this was the long pending demand of the people of Kangan area.

Dr Piyush said that health institutions have adequate stock of life saving drugs and the patients have to get these from hospitals free of cost. He said in this regard several initiatives have been taken by the Government hospital authorities should provide these medicines to patients if found any negligence will delt strictly with those who play with common masses.

People of Kangan area appreciated the move taken by DC Ganderbal and they hope that such kind of surprise visits in other departments should also taken up.
