DY CM pays homage to martyrs on National Police Day

JAMMU OCTOBER 21: Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh paid rich tributes to the police, army, para military force martyrs who made supreme sacrifice for maintaining integrity and sovereignty of the nation, here today at the homage paying ceremony organised by J&K Police to mark National Police Day .
Deputy Chief Minister took salute at the Commemoration Parade in presence of Minister of State for Tourism and Education Priya Sethi, Legislators Romesh Arora,Vikram Randhawa, G.L Raina, Krishan Lal, Gagan Bhagat, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr M K Bandhari, IGP Jammu S.D.S Jamwal, , Deputy Commissioner Jammu Kumar Rajeev Ranjan besides senior officers, local representatives, veterans along with family members and relatives of the martyrs.
Floral tributes were also paid to the police martyrs.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nirmal Singh hailed the contribution of Army and police personnel and said that Dy SP Ayoub Pandit, SHO Feroz Ahmad and Lieutenant Umar Fayaz sacrificed their lives like many others from Jammu and other parts of the country to safeguard the nation. “We salute their sacrifice”, he added.
He said terrorists groups are out to harm Indian democracy but brave jawans sacrificed their lives protecting the country’s security.
Dr Nirmal Singh said that the state is facing Pakistan sponsored proxy war in the shape of terrorist attacks, stone pelting and by perpetrating violence, but the police, army and other security forces are playing active role to counter it. He said the security forces have been dealing with the situation bravely and those involved in violence and arson would be dealt in accordance to law.
He gave full credit to Jammu and Kashmir Police for ensuring peace in the state by offering supreme sacrifices. “Police administration plays pivotal role in upholding and enforcing law to protect life, liberty, property, human rights and dignity of the people” he asserted.
Later, Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated a blood donation camp organised by the J&K police in which all senior officers and other volunteers donated the blood.
He also met with the family members of the police martyrs and presented them gifts.
