CEO JTFRP inspects facilities
SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 14: Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Jhelum & Tawi Flood Recovery Project (JTFRP), Saurabh Bhagat, today visited the Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) located at Humhama here and inspected facilities for its extension which shall enable it to handle all emergencies and disasters.
He was accompanied by Commandant General (DGP) SDRF, Dilbagh Singh, Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mohammed Haroon Malik, SSP Budgam, Tejinder Singh, Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Abdul Salaam Mir, Director Disaster Management, Aamir Ali, Commandant SDRF, Bashir Ahmed Sofi, Tehsildar Budgam, General Manager JKPCC among other senior officers.
Pertinently, the State Cabinet recently transferred approximately 50 kanals of land to the Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (DMRRR) for establishing the State-level Emergency Operation Centre.
On the occasion, the CEO JTFRP instructed that technological solutions and inputs for EOC should be put in place within three months and a state-of-the-art EOC should be established with support from the World Bank.
JKPCC, the executing agency of the project, was advised to prepare the conceptual plan keeping in mind the future requirements. It was said that preparation of a composite plan will lead to convergence of resources from SDMA and SDRF for the EOC.
Meanwhile, it was ordered the interim EOC which has been established in a makeshift temporary structure be made functional by installing communication facilities including satellite phone, hotlines and wireless network with all districts.
