Srinagar, Oct 17: More than a fortnight after G H Malik retired on superannuation, the government has not appointed new incumbent as commissioner secretary tourism.
Sources said that the ruling PDP-BJP alliance was deliberately delaying the appointment to pave way for a junior IAS officer to be posted on the coveted post.
The IAS officer, they said, has discharged duties as a deputy commissioner as well as vice chairman LAWDA but is not eligible to be posted as commissioner secretary tourism. Sources said that if the junior IAS officer was posted as the commissioner secretary, it would annoy those who are otherwise eligible to the post. (GNS)
