Information Deptt employees call off strike following Minister’s assurance

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 14: The employees of the Information Department called off their strike today following an assurance by the Minister for Information, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali that the issues flagged by them would be resolved amicably so that the dignity of the officers of the Department is restored and they continue to work with the same zeal.
“The Advertisement sections of the Joint Director Information Kashmir/Jammu shall resume their normal work from this evening following the Information Minister’s assurance,” a spokesman of the Information Department Employees Union said in a statement.
The Employees Union hailed the initiatives taken by the Information Minister in the recent past for the overall welfare of the Department and its employees and expressed the hope that all their genuine issues would be redressed.
The spokesman said the Information Department employees would continue to work tirelessly and with dedication, as they have been doing in the past, however, they can’t compromise their dignity and honour and the same has to be maintained at every cost.
