J&K News Agencies Association calls on CM, discusses issues concerning media institutions

 

CM assures resolution of all issues

Srinagar, Oct 28: Chief Minister has directed resolution of all issues concerning the smooth working of media institutions including News Agencies and News Papers.
In her first meeting with J&K News Agencies Association after taking charge of Information portfolio, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti promised fair distribution of advertisements to media institutions empanelled by the Department of Information and Public Relations Department and extension of other facilities to media institutions on the basis of equity and justice.

According to KNS, talking to a delegation of J&K News Agencies Association led by its patron Mohammad Aslam Bhat at her Gupkar residence, Chief Minister instructed Director Information and public relations Muneer-ul-Islam to ensure fair distribution of advertisements to media institutions and extension of all necessary facilities to them on the basis of equity and justice.

The delegation comprised patron Mohammad Aslam Bhat, vice president Rasheed Rahi, General Secretary Sabir Ayoub and publicity Secretary Arshid Rasool. The delegation also raised the issue of annual subscription to News Agencies and Chief Minister asked Director Information to resolve all pending issues confronting News Agencies and other media institutions in the State.

Chief Minister during the meeting complimented both the News Agencies and the news papers for playing a constructive role in building bridges of trust and confidence between the people and the government.
The issue of accommodation to accredited journalists and chief editors of news papers was also discussed at the meeting and Chief Minister assured that steps would be taken up for looking into the genuine demands over the issue of accommodation facilities to accredited journalists and Chief editors of news papers.
