Langate Premier League: Supernaghama (A) clinch trophy, defeat Lach Leopards

​Er Rashid felicitates winners, other teams for sports spirit

Srinagar, Oct 01: The final match of Langate Premier League (LPL) organised by MLA Langate Engineer Rashid was played at Kutlari stadium on Sunday.
The final match was played between Supernaghama (A) and Lach Leopards teams.
Nearly 140 teams participated in the league that started in 2015 making it one of the largest tournaments in Kashmir.
According to the KNS correspondent Raja Akbar, thousands of spectators thronged to the Kutlari stadium to watch the final match.
The interesting thing of the finals was that the Kashmiri national Anthem was played in the beginning of the match with thousands of people standing up to show their respect for it.
Batting first Lach Leopards scored 120 runs in 18 overs. Chasing the target, Supernaghama (A) won the final match by four wickets. The Man of the match was given to Naseer Ahmad of Supernaghama and Man of the series was bagged by Khursheed Ahmad Tantray.


 The winning team was given a cash of RS 20,000 while the runner up was prized Rs 10,000.

140 teams participated in the long tournament. Every team was given a sports kit by MLA Langate Engineer Rashid who was Chief Guest at the occasion.


Later, media persons were awarded for giving coverage to the tournament. Those awarded are KNS Correspondent Raja Akbar, Javid Zargar of Kashmir Clarion, Bhat Shameem of Munsif TV, Yahya Sultan of ETV and Abdul Rashid of Tameel-e-Irshad.


Those who contributed in organising the tournament included AIP Block President Khursheed Ahmad Dar, Showkat Pandit, Nazir Ahamd War, Tanveer Ahamd Dar, Showkat Ahmad Khan, Farooq Ahamd Wani, Khursheed Ahmad Sheikh, Riyaz Ahamd Lone, and PRO to MLA Langate, Noor ul Shahbaz. (KNS)
