‘He has contempt for visitors’
Srinagar, Oct 25: Much annoyance to the owners of different unit holders, who visit the office of State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) on daily basis for seeking clearance certificates, the Chairman SPCB doesn’t entertain them and allegedly makes them wait for hours in the visiting room.
“He is not an officer but a dictator who has contempt for visitors. He is so rude and insolent that he even makes his subordinates wait for hours together. We don’t know what he keeps on doing in his chambers in isolation,” said a group of unit holders from North Kashmir to news agency CNS.
They said the Pollution Control Board in order to eradicate corruption and save time had started online process to award No Objection Certificates to the unit holders whose units don’t pollute the environment. “We have completed all the formalities and yet the present Chairman doesn’t clear our cases. This rude officer doesn’t care about the visitors and makes them wait for hours,” they said.
“I have been visiting this office from past one month and every time I wait for hours and return back without getting an appointment. The irony is that his aide is also scared of him and doesn’t dare to inform him about the visitors. Today I lost my patience and entered into his chambers. To my shock, he said from past three weeks, his computer is not working,” said another visitor adding that some female staff of PCB also waited for an hour and left the office without any appointment.
Despite repeated attempts, Chairman SPCB Mr B.Siddharth Kumar didn’t pick the phone. (CNS)
