Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir leads pro Freedom Demonstration in Pulwama, Says produce a Conducive atmosphere before Talks

Anantnag, Oct 27: The Chairman of Ummat e Islami and Mirwaiz of South Kashmir, Qazi Ahmed Yasir today addressed people at Litter in Pulwama District of South Kashmir. Mirwaiz here was welcomed with pro Freedom, Pro Zakir Musa and Pro Militancy Slogans.

Mirwaiz Yasir lead a pro Freedom demonstration after Friday prayers which was attended by a large number of people as the whole area reverberated with pro Azaadi Slogans. Mirwaiz Yasir after the conclusion of Friday prayers addressed the gathering where he rejected the dialogue proposal of India. “Dialogue and war cannot go together,” he said. Mirwaiz Yasir said that dialogue without the inclusion of  all the sections of the society would be a mere photo opportunity. He said the state has to produce conducive atmosphere on the ground for the conduction of dialogue. “They cannot be arresting people on one side and inviting Kashmiris to the dialogue table on the other,” Mirwaiz Yasir said. The unabated arrests, harassment of people, unlawful detentions have to ended first, Mirwaiz Yasir said. Mirwaiz Yasir said that dialogue would not produce anything concrete till Pakistan and other principal parties sit together on a dialogue table. He said that Yashwant Sinha was right in stating Kashmir has been lost emotionally by India and till India does not produce a conducive atmosphere for dialogue, the people on the ground would be unable to not feel isolated from the process. “We are not against dialogue, but dialogue should not be a mere photo opportunity,” Mirwaiz Yasir said.

Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir condemned the harassments that are being done in the name of Cordon and Search Operations in South Kashmir and said the region has been turned into a torture centre where it becomes tough for anyone to escape the brutality of the forces. Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir condemned the politics of revenge and said the vandalizing of the houses of militants is no bravery. He said, “No civilian should be made a casualty of the war, but unfortunately in Kashmir, civilians have become worst casualties.”

Commenting on braid chopping Mirwaiz Yasir said the only aim of such incidents is either to create fear or to increase the faith in a system that has lost credibility over time. “Victims rushing to Police Stations is a foregone conclusion and the years of harsh experience has eroded the credibility of all the institutions that operate in Kashmir,” Mirwaiz Yasir said.

Later Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir visited the house of LeT militant, Nisar Ahmed who was killed in an encounter with Government forces along with Waseem Ahmed Shah in Pulwama on 14 October 2017. Paying rich tributes to the militants at the house of Nisar Ahmed Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir said, “The Nation is really grateful to the sacrifices the young generation of Kashmir has offered despite all hardships and sufferings.”

At Last Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir demanded the release of political prisoners including Sarjan Barakati and others.
