Anantnag, Oct 22: The Chairman of Ummat e Islami today reached Bijbehara Martyrs’ graveyard in South Kashmir to pay tributes to the 52 people martyred in 22 October 1993. Mirwaiz South Kashmir offered Fateh Khawani to the martyrs.

Following which Mirwaiz addressed a mammoth public gathering in Kokernag area of Islamabad District wherein Mirwaiz while paying tributes to 1993 martyrs said, “The aftermath and the delay or the compensatory justice granted to the victims of Armed forces has eroded the credibility of the Indian legal system in Kashmir,” Mirwaiz Yasir said. Mirwaiz said that the BSF men took firing positions on the main road like the battle and started firing upon civilian crowds which was another dark day in the history of Indian rule in Kashmir. He said India has never taken any concrete steps to address such pages of history which shows their non seriousness regarding the Kashmir dispute.

Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir asked the people to stay united and not fall prey to any agendas which may come in the future to divide the people of Kashmir on communal, sectarian or social lines. “We should unite and offer full support to South Kashmir preachers and Clerics Association,” Mirwaiz said. He said people of Kashmir have always stayed united despite endless efforts of vested interests to divide Kashmir people.

Mirwaiz Yasir said India and Pakistan should come on a dialogue table and resolve all their issues including Kashmir with stakeholders across Kashmir on board. “Dialogue for the sake of dialogue is not what is needed, but a credible dialogue without any further delay with cross sections of the society is the dire need,” Mirwaiz said. He said that the presence of huge numbers of people on militant funerals should be an eye opener for one and all who have chose to live in delusion and baseless rhetoric.

Mirwaiz also demanded the release of all political prisoners including Sarjan Barkati and others.
