Objective was to choose master trainers
Srinagar, Oct 25: The second round of orientation and introductory workshop of the newly recruited staff engaged under Integrated Child Protection Scheme ICPS of district Leh, Kargil, Srinagar, Pulwama and Budgam was organized today by Mission Directorate ICPS, J&K State Child Resource Centre (CRC) and UNICEF. The workshop was held at CRC office, Bhagat, Srinagar. Each district was represented by One Protection Officer (Institutional Care), Protection Officer (Non-Institutional Care) and Legal cum Probationary Officer. The objective of the workshop was to choose master trainers from the DCPU’s through various exercises. The master trainers would in turn be trained in a way that they will help districts with capacity building on ICPS and J&K Juvenile Justice Act 2013. The workshop was moderated by Mr. Hilal Ahmad Bhat, Consultant UNICEF. He gave a presentation on J&K Juvenile Justice Act 2013 and different nuances of the ICPS Scheme. Separate workshops of a similar kind will be held for all the districts in Jammu division.
M. Iqbal Lone, Chairperson Child Resource Centre CRC and Commissioner Persons with Disabilities (PWD’s) speaking on the occasion shared his experiences with the participants and extended full support on part of CRC for effective implementation of Integrated Child Protection Scheme ICPS. He also thanked the participant and other dignitaries for time and valuable inputs.
The participants shared their perspective and appreciated the initiatives taken by authorities for ensuring children are protected from various vulnerabilities which are more severe in a fragile context like Jammu and Kashmir. The District Officers requested for more such programs in future and shared their feedback to making such programs more enriching. (KNS)
