Srinagar, Oct 13: In order to bridge the gap between police and public, Srinagar police holds two police public meetings at SDPO Office Hazratbal and Police Station Nishat, chaired by SP Hazratbal Shri Amod Ashok Nagpure and SP East Srinagar Shri Dawood Ayub, respectively.
Senior citizens including the youth of these areas participated in these meetings. Various issues and problems including the broad chopping were discussed.
The participants were requested not to fall prey to the rumours and to educate the concerned mohallas regarding the rumors being spread in the local masses. They were also advised to cooperate with police and to call the police in case of suspicious movement/person.
During the meeting at Hazratbal, the participants lauded the efforts of local police in reducing gambling, however requested for more concrete steps to end this menace to which the youth are generally addicted. The participants were also advised to monitor the activities of their children and engage them in some activities in order to stop them from getting involved, in social crimes like gambling, stone pelting, drug addiction etc.
All the contact numbers of Police Station were provided to them and advised to contact Police Station in case of any exigency.
