Around 100 students of Law department visited police stations Nigeen,Lal Bazar and zakura of district Srinagar and experienced first hand policing..
police officials said that the students were exposed to day to day policing which includes taking cognizance of crime, investigation of crime, and trial procedures.. the students took keen interest in learning details of policing and were very happy to interact with police personnel
They expressed that ‘ police are part of society and due to wrong representation by media their image is misunderstood by common people’ . On the last day, the students interacted with the zonal SP and the SDPOs.. during this session students freely raised various topics of general concern and in the end certificates were distributed to them..
A senior official added that this is a very welcome initiative which will help us interact with our student fraternity and will further bridge the gap between police and youth…
