Kulgam, Nov 20: Days after footballer Majid Khan of Anantnag district laid down arms, another youth from South Kashmir has shunned militancy and returned to his family.

Reports said that Naseer Ahmed of Chimmar village of Kulgam district contacted his family and wished to return back. He had reportedly joined militant outfit Hizbul Mujhadeen a month ago.

SSP Kulgam said that youth had disappeared from his village in last week of September.

A missing report about his disappearance still stands registered in Damhal Hanjipora police station.

Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone told news agency CNS that Nisar has neither surrendered nor apprehended.  He said the youth contacted his family and wished to come back.

“The youth is with us and family is in touch with him,” IGP said.

This is the second incident of such nature. Last week, footballer turned militant shunned militancy and returned to his family. Though he is still with Police but IGP has already clarified that no charges will be pressed against footballer Majid Khan.

Both DPG and IGP have been making vehement appeals to militants to return to their families. In Kulgam on Monday, Police Chief requested parents to persuade militants to return to the families. He said police with take care of these militants with love and affection. (CNS)
