Bakers penalized for cheating consumers     

Srinagar, Nov 20: Prompted by public complaints that the bakers of the area of Ishbar Nishat are of Srinagar city are indulging in short weighment of  kashmiri roti/Lawasa/Chuchwaroo, the field executives of Legal Metrology under the supervision of  Amar Singh Joint Controller Legal Metrology Kashmir conducted the surprise inspection of the markets of locality and booked a number of erring traders for violating Legal Metrology laws.

    The Director Food, Civil supplies and Consumer Affairs Kashmir has fixed the price of Rs 5 for 60 gram roti/chuchwaroo/Lawassa.

   The department penalized a number of erring traders and collected Rs 10,000 as fine. The consumers may contact the department on the phone numbers 0194-2490274 and 0194-2490390, if they have any complaint against any trader. (CNS)
