Shopian, Nov 21: Government Forces used tear-smoke shells to disperse protesting shopkeepers amid shutdown in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday.
The trouble started after forces allegedly attempted to arrest a shopkeeper amid shutdown against frequent power cuts in the town.
Local sources said that other shopkeepers stated protest, prompting police to lob tear smoke shells.
Reports said that shops and business establishments remained closed in the town to protest against the frequent cuts in the area. (CNS)
