Srinagar, Nov 25: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Bandipora Sajjad Hussain today inaugurated a day long training programme on Emergency Management, organized by Jammu and Kashmir Association of Social Workers (JKASW),here .
Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad Sanai,Deputy Chief Education Officer Bandipora G M Lone, DSP SDRF Abdul Rashid,DSWO, media persons and a good number of volunteers , besides other concerned were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion,the DDC appreciated the social work of the Association and said that the Association is working with District Administration during any disaster situation.He said the purpose of training is to equip youths from most vulnerable communities, being the first respondents in any disaster situation.He stressed upon the volunteers to fully understand the aims and objectives of JKASW so that they can deliver most efficiently where ever required.He said volunteers can give better service during disaster situation as they are the first responders. The DDC further said that District Administration has listed volunteers from all vulnerable villages of the district and has prepared a database of to minimize the losses during any disaster situation.
The Project Coordinater JKASW Ambreen Bashir gave the details of the Association and informed that awareness Programmes were carried out in all the 10 vulnerable villages of the district situated at Wullar banks.
The training was imparted by the instructors of 1st BN SDRF srinagar.later a mock drill regarding evacuation and rescue measures was also held on the occasion.
