Drug peddler arrested by Anantnag Police

War against drugs continues

Anantnag , Nov 04: Continuing its campaign “war against drugs”,
On the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police Anantnag Shri Altaf Ahmad Khan, various naka/checking points are established by Anantnag Police and during the checking one drug peddler was arrested and cannabis powder was recovered from his possession.

The naka checking was established in the jurisdiction of Police post Sangam headed by DO Sangam under the supervision of SDPO Bijbehara Shri Rashid Akber.

The arrested accused person identified as Nazir Ahmad Shah son of Abdul Raheem Shah resident of Bagh Bandipora who was boarding a Tata Sumo Bearing Registration No Jk15/3213 after intercepted by police for checking . On the search, police recovered one polythene bag containing 2kg and 500 grams of Cannabis powder from his possession. Vehicle and Driver namely Mumtaz Ahmad Lone were also arrested along with the main accused on spot .

A case FIR number 196/2017 under section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered in this regard and further investigation taken up.
