Drug peddler arrested in Ganderbal, 17 Kgs of Bhung recovered

Srinagar, Nov 09: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Ganderbal police has arrested a drug peddler and recovered about 17 kilograms of dried bhung from his possession.

On the directions of DySP Ganderbal Shri Aashiq Hussain, a naka was established at Shiekhzoa headed by In-charge Shadipora Shri Showkat Ali in its jurisdiction. During naka checking a suspicious person was found roaming near the naka.

The naka party apprehended the person who was later identified as Waheed Ahmed Reshi son of Mohammed Shafi resident of Shiekhzoa Ganderbal. 17 kilograms of dried bhung packed in bags was recovered from his possession.
A case FIR number 241/17 under section 8/20 NDPS act was registered against him and investigation was taken up.
