Illegal earth excavation claims one more life in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, Nov 04: A 35 Year old Muzzafar Ahmed died after the tipper he was driving turned turtle in Nallah Sindh here in Central Kashmir’s District Ganderbal. 

The deceased was resident of Pandach area and was ferrying Sand and boulders extracted from Nallah Sindh.

This is pertinent to mention that the illegal extraction of Sand and Boulders have claimed many lives so far in the District. 

Though Court have banned the use of JCB’S for extraction which create deep pits in nallah Sind but the activity goes unabated in District. 

Meanwhile residents of Ganderbal said some areas of the district are situated on the foothills and are living in fear because of the apprehension of landslides due to stone and soil quarrying.

They have appealed district administration and Ganderbal police to take strict action against those involved in illegal practice to curb the menace of earth excavation in Ganderbal.
