Srinagar, Nov 27: Naidkhai Army Camp organised a multispectrum Awami Mela “Jashn-e-Zindagi” on 27 Nov 17 where more than 800 students from various schools and colleges participated in the festival.
The venue turned out to be the hub of fun and frolic for students who enthusiastically participated in various games organised in the festival like Balloon Shooting, Hook & Win, Toss & Ring, Musical Chair, Jalebi Race, Lemon Spoon Race etc.
The forum guided the youth in exploring the job opportunities in Armed Forces and other fields with setting up Recruitment Guidance stalls. In addition, various other stalls like handicrafts, perfumes & Attars, mobile shops & SBI Counter were set up to facilitate the local populace.
Martial Arts demonstration was also organized with an aim to develop the interest of youth towards fitness activities as well as sensitizing them in self defense tactics.
Main attraction of the mela was the “khush-khat”- Celebration of Islamic Calligraphy in Kashmir where an on-site live demonstration of Islamic Calligraphy took place.
Around 50 student artists from various institutes of Srinagar, Baramulla, Bandipora & Ganderbal districts had put on display their works in Arabic, Persian & Kashmiri language.
The aim of organising the workshop cum exhibition was to provide an opportunity for many local calligraphers who had never found a platform. It was appreciated by artists and visitors alike.
At the end, prizes were distributed to the winners. It was a magical moment for the youth as they had a great time.
