UN resolutions only option to resolve Kashmir issue: Adv Behal
Srinagar, Nov 06: Jammu Kashmir Social Peace Forum JKSPF held a meeting at Srinagar.
Addressing the members, JKSPF chairman, Advocate Devinder Singh Behal said that UN resolutions are only option for resolving long pending Kashmir issue, to make the peace process a success it is important to make conducive atmosphere.
According to the statement issued to KNS, it was also discussed that if really India is interested in resolving this 70 year old Kashmir dispute than they must prepare ground at first instance like the Govt of India should stop sue of pellet guns, release all political prisoners and youth detained in jails.
“Besides the bunkers which are erected at the public places should also be removed forthwith,” he said.
Behal also said that Kashmir was a Internationally recognized dispute and the people of Kashmir had been guaranteed the right to self determination through several resolutions of the united nations.
Singh also said that resolution of Kashmir dispute was possible only through tripartite dialogue involving Pakistan, India and the genuine Kashmiri leadership.
“We appeal the Civil Society of India to come forward and help to resolve this issue peacefully because this is an issue concerning humanity,” he said.
He also said that Kashmir issue need to be resolved in a peaceful manner by taking all the stake holders on the board for a meaningful and result oriented dialogue. “We appeal both India and Pakistan to resolve JK issue as per the wishes of the state of Jammu and Kashmir,” Singh said. (KNS
