Security Guard fires in air after observing ‘suspicious movement’

Srinagar, Nov 10: Suspected militants showed their presence once again in South Kashmir when they targeted a police vehicle in Qazigund area of Anantnag district.
A police official said that suspected militants fired upon a police vehicle in Bungam area of Qazigund, creating panic in the area.

The official said that there was report of any injuries or casualties. He said the area has been cordoned off and a search operation was launched to nab the militants.
Meanwhile, a security guard posted at Police Lines Awantipora fired couple of shots in air after he allegedly observed some suspicious movement.

Sources said that a Sentry posted at Police Lines Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district resorted to aerial firing creating panic inside the Police Lines.

The incident occurred at 3:15 of Friday morning. A police official while confirming the incident told news agency CNS that the security guard had observed some suspicious movement outside police lines and subsequently he fired some warning shots in air.
“Government Forces searched the area, however, nothing suspicious was found,” the police official added. (CNS)
