They quote Instrument of Accession the way it suits them: Omar

Srinagar, Nov 10: Former chief Minister and National Conference Working President Omar Abdullah Union Friday while taking a dig at ruling BJP government, said the “Instrument of Accession that made J&K a part of the Union kept ALL powers with the state baring Currency/Communication/Defence/Foreign Affairs.”

He was reacting to the statement of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Hansraj Ahir, who said Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PaK) is part of India as per agreement made by Maharaja Hari Singh but it has been under Pakistani occupation.

“Under leadership of PM Modi we have the power & will to solve this matter. PM is working in this direction & it will be resolved soon,” Ahir said.
Omar in a series of tweets, said: “You can’t pick the parts of the Instrument of Accession that suit the politics of the BJP while conveniently abrogating responsibility for the rest.”

In another tweet, he said: I love how when it suits them they quote the Instrument of Accession signed by the Maharaja. What about the part guaranteeing J&K’s autonomy?” (KNS)
