Srinagar, Nov 27: A Pakistani Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant who was arrested by forces in a joint operation three days ago in forest area of Magam in Handwara in Kupwara district has been handed over to National Investigation Agency (NIA) for further probe.


Official sources told news agency GNS that the Pakistani militant was arrested by Army’s 47 RR and SOG in a joint operation on November 24 at Magam forest in Handwara. Later, they said, his identity was ascertained as 19-year old Muhammad Amir alias Abu Hamas, a resident of Karachi Pakistan.



Sources said that a team of NIA arrived here from New Delhi today and Aamir was handed over to it. “Yes, he has been handed over to the NIA for further questioning,” a police officer confirmed to GNS.

Earlier also, many foreign militants have been taken away by NIA from Jammu and Kashmir. (GNS)
