Asks New Delhi to stop experimenting failed experiments
Sopore, Nov 30: President Jammu Kashmir Bachao Tehreek and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil Thursday termed the engagement process undertaken by Centre’s special representative Dineshwar Sharma a directionless approach and a futile exercise.
Hitting out at the Centre government for adopting directionless approach, Vakil said Dineshwar Sharma is talking to very smaller groups not known to people even for name sake and bureaucrats which is not a proper way of resolving long pending political conflict like Kashmir issue.
He asked New Delhi to stop experimenting failed experiments in the past as many people like Dineshwar Sharma were sent by previous regime to Kashmir for addressing the grievances of the people but all the Dineshwar Sharma like previous engagements failed to restore peace and political stability in the State. He said without resumption of dialogue with Pakistan and engagement with the separatist leadership no dialogue initiative would restore peace and political stability in the Jammu and Kashmir State.
Vakil was addressing a party workers convention at Nowpora Kalan Rafiabad.
Vakil accused NC President Farooq Abdullah of provoking communal forces to create more troubles in Kashmir by throwing up a challenge to hoist an Indian flag at Lal Chowk in Srinagar and declaring Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) a part of Pakistan, Vakil said Abdullah is trying to provoke communal forces and play with the sentiments of Kashmiri people just for bringing back his Party National Conference into power.
Declaring that gone are the days when people were being hoodwinked by Abdullah’s for boosting the rule of his party in the State.
Vakil appealed people of the Country belonging to different shades of opinion not to get provoked by Farooq Abdullah’s statement as provocations would prove disastrous for peace and political stability in the State and the country as well. Dynasty rulers are always interested in uncertainty in the State to grab power and loot State exchequer Vakil added
Terming torture of Kashmiri prisoners in Tihar Jail a blot on democracy and a severe blow to the dialogue undertaken by Dineshwar Sharma which has been now reduced to a mere drama in Kashmir, he said the assault on prisoners of Kashmir shows that prisoners of Kashmir lodged in Tihar jail and other jails outside the state are not safe.
Others who addressed the convention include Syed Rafiq Shah General Secretary and former MLC, Ghulam Nabi Shah District President Baramulla and G M Shagoo Chief Organiser of District Baramulla. (KNS)
