Earlier, a para commando sustained bullet injuries during initial phase of gunfight.

The gunfight triggered after a Joint team of army’s 22 RR, 9 PARA and SOG launched a cordon and search operation at Sagipora forest following specific inputs about the presence of some militants in the area.

As such the joint team of forces intensified the combing operation to trace the hiding militants and fired several warning shots.

The fire was retaliated by the militants triggering of a gunfight. When reports last came the exchange of heavy gun fire was going on. (GNS)
