Srinagar, Nov 28: Weatherman on Tuesday predicted light rain in Kashmir as Valley continues to reel under intense cold wave due to sub-zero temperature.
According to news agency GNS, the weatherman in his evening bulletin said there is possibility of light rain and snow during next 24 hours.
He said that Leh in Jammu and Kashmir recorded a low of -7.3 degree Celsius, followed by Kargil at -6.4 and Pahalgam -3.9. According to Meteorological Department, Srinagar recorded a low of -1.9 and a maximum of 11.2 degree Celsius. The Gulmarg resort recorded 5.6 degree Celsius max and -3.4 degree Celsius minimum temperature.
Due to dry spell, intense cold wave has gripped entire Kashmir and has increased the respiratory related diseases among people. Doctors have warned of spike in respiratory ailments if dry spell continues. The weatherman said that there is only possibility of light rains/snow and not any heavy wet spell so far this week.(GNS)
