SRINAGAR, DEC 10: The Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today visited two Government Higher Secondary Schools in Amira Kadal Constituency and took the firsthand appraisal of the ongoing construction works.
On the occasion, the Minister was accompanied by Director School Education Kashmir, Dr GN Itoo, General Manager JKPCC Vikar Ahmad Shonto and other concerned officials from JKPCC and Education Department.
On his visit to Government Higher Secondary School in Jawahar Nagar, the Minister took review of the additional accommodation which is being constructed under World Bank Project and other construction works being executed under Tameer. The additional accommodation includes classroom block, Library Block, Laboratory Block, Auditorium and waiting hall.
While taking the tour of premises, Altaf Bukhari directed the concerned officials to remove the electric wires that pass through the middle of school so as to avoid any untoward incident. He also directed them to construct additional toilets for the students and observed that there is need to develop the school on modern lines so that better facilities are provided to the students.
Later, the Minister visited Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Rajbagh where he reviewed the ongoing construction works and also approved further development works for the school. He also directed the officials to construct a canteen for the students.
