Inaugurates public convenience at stadium in Mattan
Anantnag, Dec 20: Terming amnesty to the stone-pelters as a positive step, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Kashmir Range, S P Pani Wednesday said that law and order situation in the Valley has been defused to large extent.
According to the KNS correspondent, talking to reporters after inaugurating the public inconvenience at the stadium, Pani said that the since the amnesty to the youth, the law and order situation has been defused to large extent. “Many youth booked in stone pelting cases were given amnesty, which a positive move and we are also interacting with those youth on district level,” he said.
He said that they are putting every effort to fill the gap between the people and police. “We are committed to the public cause,” he said.
Asked about the frequent internet suspension, the DIG SKR said that the internet is being suspended to control the rumors, which is in the interest of people. “The internet suspension is taking place to control the spreading of rumors. The services are being restored shortly as soon as the situation turns normal,” he said.
Earlier, Pani inaugurated toilet facility in sports stadium Mattan Anantnag. SSP Anantang, Altaf Khan was accompanying him.
The public convenience at the stadium was the long pending demand of the people especially the sports lovers.
“We are here to promote sports culture and youth should come forward to show their talent in the sports,” he said.
SSP Anantnag, Altaf Khan said people of Mattan are great sports lovers and “we will fulfill the pending demand of constructing gym in the stadium as well.”
Meanwhile, people of Mattan have thanked DGP S P Vaid IG Munir Ahmad Khan for their cooperation and support.
It is worth to mention here that over ten lakh rupees were spent on constructing the public convenience. (KNS)
