I have taken to this open platform to acquaint you with our concerns regarding recently issued date sheet, I hope your highness will take the necessary steps to ease our worries. Sir I want to bring it to your notice that from last 9-10 months we have appeared in 3 semesters including moot court & many internals. The day we have joined the law school, holidays have remained only an illusion for us. Our batch started from October 2014 & floods had already done the damage to our studies but we compensated it with our holidays by appearing in exams during the cold days of chilai kalan. After that, everything was going smoothly before the unrest hit the valley after Burhan’s killing, but we again compensated the loss by appearing back to back in 3 semesters in less than a year & now when we are going at the right track and still we are forced to appear in another semester. From last 3 years, we have remained distinct from holidays & now when we have the opportunity to have a break from studies & do some extracurricular activities, you have issued our date sheet for another semester. Time is not far when we will be seen less in classrooms and more at psychiatric clinics. Although you are giving us, a break for a month but it actually is not a vacation for us but a time for exam preparation.
Many of the students are putting up in hostels and rented apartments. Neither there are AC rooms nor are there geysers. Moreover, when all other departments have already announced winter vacation then what is our fault? We still have year and a half left for our degree to be completed and we do not want it in that manner where our syllabus is completed in just 20-30 lectures. We have not come here to get degrees only but we want to get educated too, as we do not want to be struggling lawyers for lifetime. We are not machines by putting more burden on us, will only add more trouble to the already troubled ones.
Keeping in view all these points please postpone our examination and allow us to spend some time with ourselves. I hope you will never let us down.
