Army organizes Cricket Tourney


Srinagar, Dec 25: To strengthen the bond, generate goodwill, and develop a sense of sportsmanship and to engage the youth of the Valley, the Army organized Kangan Premier League from 27 Nov 2017 to 23 Dec 2017.

The tournament witnessed great sense of enthusiasm among local boys as well as from other teams of district Ganderbal. A total of 16 teams participated in the tournament.

In the final, according to press release issued by Army, Friends 11 team of Kangan played against Rayil Cricket Club in which Friends 11 Kangan won the match to lift the winner’s trophy by defeating Rayil Cricket Club by 31 runs.

Several dignitaries attended the final match to boost the morale of the participating teams and the winners and runner up players were felicitated with medals by SSP Girdhari Lal Sharma.

Such sports activities are aimed at developing sportsmanship amongst the youth who were happy for getting an opportunity to play in the tournament. (CNS)
