Shopian, Dec 29: Braving chilly weather conditions, Hundreds of people joined night-long prayers on the occasion of Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani Gous-ul-Azam in pinjura where the minimum temperature was about five degree Celsius.
Special night-long prayers were organised in shrines and other religious places in the valley.
The devotes have the glimpse of ” Holy Tabrokaats”, including holy Relic of Hazrat Gous after Fajr (morning) prayers and the process will continue throughout the day after prayers.
The authorities have made all arrangements, including electricity, water and medical arrangements for the devotes.
Large number of vendors in pinjura particularly selling ‘Halva paratha’ and other eatables.
However, the main congregation was held in the shrine of Hazrat Gous-ul-Azam at Khanyar in the downtown city, where thousands of devotees, including women and children, from different parts of the valley participated in the night-long prayers despite chilly weather condition.
