Chief Minister’s T20 Premier League for Women inaugurated

JAMMU, Dec 16: J&K Sports Council in collaboration J&K Police (Home Guard/Civil Defence & SDRF) is organizing Chief Minister’s T20 Premier League for Women at Parade Ground, Jammu. The inaugural function of the League was held at Police Auditorium Jammu today afternoon. The chief guest of the inaugural function was Shri Imran Raza Ansari, Hon’ble Minister for Youth Service and Sports, J&K while Dr. S.P Vaid, DGP, J&K was guest of honour. There are eight team including two from Nepal and Bangladesh participating in the event.

                       Speaking on the occasion Shri Imran Raza Ansari, Hon’ble Minister for Youth Service and Sports, J&K complemented J&K Police for promoting sports in the State. He said J&K Police is working tirelessly to bring peace in the State. He also thanked J&K Police particularly the DGP, Dr. S.P Vaid and Shri Dilbag Singh for providing all help in organizing the league in Jammu.
            Guest of Honour on the occasion, Dr. S.P Vaid DGP, J&K said that idea of organizing women T20 is great and J&K is ideal place to organise Chief Minister’s T20 Premier League for Women as a lady is the Chief Minister of this State. Dr. Vaid stated that the J&K Police wants youth away from drugs and violence and for that sports promotion is very important.
        In his welcome address DG/Commandant General, HG/CD & SDRF while thanking the Chief Minister and the DGP J&K said that it is a very heartening to organise such a tournament where the women will be competing. He said the League will help a big way in promoting cricket among the females of the State. He thanked Jammu Kashmir Sports Council for choosing to collaborate with the J&K Police. He thanked the Hon’ble Minister for his support and guidance.

        Shri Ranjit Kalra, Vice Chairman, Sports Council, Jammu presented vote of thanks. He thanked J&K Police for all support and assistance.

PHQ, Shri J.P Singh, IGP Traffic, Shri Jagjit Singh, Director SKPAU, Shri M.S Salaria, DIG JSK Range, Shri Rafiq-ul-Hassan, DIG Armed, Jammu, Shri Vijay Kumar, SSP Jammu, Shri Vivek Gupta, AIG (Pers.), Mubassir Latifi, AIG (Building), Shri Abdul Waheed, AIG (CIV), Shri Kulbir Singh, Commandants of the Armed Police and other senior & retired police officers.
