DFP pays tribute to slain Pakherpora, Sopore militants

‘India should accept historical facts about Kashmir dispute to prove its sincerity’

Srinagar, Dec 01: Paying tributes to the martyrs of Pakherpora and Sopore, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has said that if India is sincere in ending the bloodshed in the disputed region it should accept the historical facts about the Kashmir dispute and take political measures to resolve it once for all.
The party has said in a statement issued to KNS that “our brave hearts are rendering great sacrifices and it is because of them that Kashmir dispute is being discussed in international forums.”

The party said that it is very disheartening to learn about the martyrdoms of our brave hearts on day today basis however the whole responsibility lies on India which is adamant on its undemocratic policies about Kashmir.
The statement said that Kashmir issue cannot be resolved by killings and using iron fist but by applying political measures. This has been the policy of our incarcerated and ailing leader Shabir Ahmad Shah.

The party wants to reiterate that unless unrealistic approach is given away there can be no peace and stability in the south Asian region. We appeal to all justice loving powers of the world to come forward to resolve the longstanding Kashmir dispute and stop the ongoing bloodshed.

Meanwhile, the party expressed deep sorrow over the sad demise of Sheikh Abdul Kabir, father of Shaheed Sheikh Abdul Hameed. The party said that late Abdul Kabir faced a long and tough time at the hands of Indian forces however he remained patient and exhibited steadfastness. Freedom party secretary general Moulana Mohammad Abdullah Tari while paying tributes to the departed soul prayed for his forgiveness. (KNS)
