Stresses on release of all political prisoners
Srinagar, Dec 27: Jammu Kashmir Freedom Party has expressed satisfaction over the release of Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief Syedah Asiya Andrabi, her Secretary Sofi Fehmeeda and senior resistance leader Mushtaq ul Islam from their long incarcerations.
Stressing on the release of all political prisoners, the party said in a statement issued to KNS that if the Kashmir dispute is to be resolved it demands such an atmosphere where each party would feel free to put forth its stand.
Meanwhile, a party delegation led by Engineer Farooq met Syedah Asiya Andrabi and Mushtaq ul Islam and congratulated them on their release. The delegation also condoled senior resistance leader Mohammad Yousuf Naqash on the sad demise of his cousin brother.
Freedom Party believes that releasing political prisoners like Syedah Asiya Andrabi and Mushtaq ul Islam is a positive step and positive steps always bring positive results. It is of utmost importance to take positive steps to bring a change on the grass root level.
The party stressed upon New Delhi to shun the rigid attitude so that Kashmir dispute is resolved according to the wishes of the people who have been suffering a lot.
Reiterating that Kashmiri prisoners including ailing DFP chief Shabir Ahmad Shah are facing very tough times in different jails, the party said that booking leaders in false cases cannot make them to change their political stance vis-vis Kashmir. The roots of Kashmir dispute are so deep that keeping leaders like Shabir Shah away from his people will not affect it. The party stressed upon immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners. (KNS)
