Jammu, Dec 29: Director General of Police Dr. S.P Vaid unveiled the police calendar for the year 2018 and released Commandments of J&K police, in a function held at Conference hall in Police Headquarters, Jammu today afternoon. 

The main highlights of the calendar are visits of Hon’ble Prime Minster of India, Shri Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Union Home Minister of India, Shri Rajnath Singh to the state and visit of Hon’ble Chief minister, J&K, Ms. Mehbooba Mufti to different police establishments. The calendar has also highlighted achievements and initiatives and various youth engagement schemes under Civic Action Programme taken by Police in 2017. It highlights the achievements of different police wings as well.
DGP also released Ten Commandments of Jammu and Kashmir police for the year 2018 with the theme “Police for peaceful J&K”.  These commandments are aimed to provide better services to the people.
The commandments include, Use of technology in investigation, law & order and cyber space to counter the criminals effectively, calibrated police action to deal with narcotics smuggling/crime against women and traffic management, interaction with public on social media on real time basis for effective coordination and grievance redressal, sharpening& up-gradation of investigation skills of police officers to meet the new challenges of cyber crime, ensuring all-round welfare of policemen including martyrs families & the NOKs to keep the moral of J&K police high, enhancing police-student relationship, by sports,-constructive debates seminars, skill development and career planning guidance, measures for improvement of surveillance system & information gathering, emphasis on human intelligence at police station level, projection of good work done by police, in print/electronic and social media, training young officers to be the next leaders of the Organization and wearing correct, clean & smart uniform, by all policemen and dignified behavior with public.
The function was attended by Commandant General Homeguards/ Civil Defence & SDRF J&K Shri Dilbag Singh, ADGP Armed, Shri Aurn Chowdary, IGsP, Shri S.D Singh Jamwal, Shri Rajesh Yadav, Shri Danish Rana, Shri Jagjit Kumar, Shri Surrinder Gupta, Shri J.P Singh and Shri Alok Kumar and other senior officers.
