Demands construction of Mosque in civil secretariat Jammu & Srinagar

Langate 04 Dec: Condemning Jammu Development Authority (JDA) for bulldozing a Madrasa in Jammu’s Gole Gujral today, AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed has accused administration of following a vested interest and said that the move is aimed at creating a communal division between various communities. While addressing a function at Qalamabad Langate today, Er. Rasheed said “Nobody should object to removing illegal structures and encroachments but if the administration is selective in doing so, it is unacceptable. It is condemnable that Govt. has razed to earth a Madrasa operating at the place since many decades. The reason seems to be obvious that it belonged to a particular community. There can be identified dozens of illegal structures including temples and other religious structures constructed in state land at various places in Jammu providence but nobody has ever raised any objection. We need to respect the sentiments of all religions and should also not do any such thing that should send a wrong notion”. Er. Rasheed added “while respecting  the sentiments and emotions of every community is mandatory but the Govt. has  failed even to provide a Mosque within the premises of civil secretariat in Jammu and Srinagar despite the fact that a temple already exists in civil secretariat Jammu and now a temple has been constructed recently outside Chief Minister’s residence as well”. Er. Rasheed appealed administration not to forget that it is duty bound to protect the people of state cutting across their own likes and dislikes and said that the earliest action against those who demolished Madrasa is urgently required to restore faith and the sense of security among the victims of the incident. Er. Rasheed also appealed construction of Mosque at civil secretariat in Jammu and Srinagar without further delay, so that sentiments of both communities are respected.
