Yesterday, the army’s HAWS rescue team managed to retrieve body of one soldier who had gone missing along with two others at Gurez sector early this week on December 12 after being hit by an avalanche.

He was identified as Sepoy Kaushal Kumar.

In another incident on the same day, a landslide struck Patila Post of Army’s 20 Dogra regiment in Nowgam sector of Handwara in Kupwara district. The searches at Nowgam are also underway but there is no breakthrough so far.(GNS)
