Police officer who imposed fine on himself after hitting parked car awarded DGP’s Commendation Medal

Srinagar, Dec 31:  Police officer who hitted parked car and later imposed fine on himself has been awarded DGP’s commendation Medal for his meritious and exemplary performance during the 2017 year.

The list of officers was announced today vide order no 4710 of 2017 dated 30.12.2017 in which 341 persons including civil/police/paramilitary and army were in the list and have been awarded for meritious and exemplery performance during 2017 year.

Earlier a month ago, first of kind incident was reported in Anantnag district wherein the J&K police Sub Inspector imposed fine on himself after hitting a parked car, inside the premises of Janglat Mandi Hospital.

Divisional Officer police post, Janglat Mandi, Masroor Ahmad NO ARP-109301, hit and damaged the parked car which belonged to a doctor from Srinagar. The police officer imposed fine on himself and then left a note on the car intimating the doctor about the incident.

The doctor later shared the story on social media. Dr Abid posted “The behavior can only seen in Kashmir and the gesture has made me feel safe and secure in my land.” The police officer later said that humans make mistakes but if a person realises his mistake, it can help them to become a better human being.

The said officer has earlier spotted and returned a mobile I-phone 7 plus which later hitted social media and with people appreciating his humanity and work.
