Speaker dedicates Rs 8.76 lakh Community Hall to people


JAMMU, DEC 31: Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar Kavinder Gupta today inaugurated the newly constructed community hall at Bhour Kothey and dedicated the building to the people of the area.

The community hall has been constructed at a cost of Rs 8.76 lakh, the funds for which were provided by him through his Constituency Development Fund.

Urging people to make best use of the community facilities, the Speaker said apart from routine social events, these centers should also be utilized for vocational and related activities for youth and women welfare and development.

Later, the Speaker visited Bikram Nagar, in Gadhigarh and interacted with the people at a public meet.

The people informed him about their grievances and problems pertaining to need for augmentation of power supply in the area by way of installation of new poles to meet the present demands of the area, besides, request for extension of existing nallah in the area.

The Speaker gave a patient hearing to the people, and assured them that the issues raised by them would be addressed on priority.

The Speaker also visited Gorkha Nagar Bahu Fort, and distributed gas connections to BPL and other families residing there.

The people expressed their thanks to the Speaker for taking up their issues on priority and redressing them.
