The Edge Kick Started The Road Rules Safety Campaign “ALERT TODAY ALIVE TOMORROW”

Baramulla, Dec 07: An initiative taken by the edge which aims to make drivers, motorists and other road rulers more aware and carefully of road safety rules. The purpose of the was to create awareness to the public and aware them about road safety rules while driving.

The campaign brought together SSP Sopore Mr Harmeet Singh Mehta, DSP Traffic Mr. Rashid, ARTO Baramulla, SHO Sopore Mandi Mr Yasar Bin Ghulam Qadir also attended the campaign.

The educational institutions also  supported and participated in the road rules safety campaign.

SRM Welkin, Muslim Educational Trust, Sanctorum Public School, Degree College Sopore.

The campaign included road safety activities and instructions where the students, volunteers pleaded the motorists to follow safety road rules like wearing the helmet while driving a motorcycle, fastening the seat belt while driving a car, driving within the prescribed speed limits and urging drivers to be more attentive while driving.

The volunteers and students were deployed all over the Bypass road Sopore with the aim to make motorists aware of road rules. Pens and Flowers were given to those motorists who respect road rules in appreciation of their safe driving behaviour.

All the work we have done with the help of J&K Police Sopore and the educational institutions we are hoping to change attitude and behaviour among drivers and motorists regarding their safety rules added another member of the edge Muniba Elahi.

Information and education of road safety rules also plays an important role, the more informed and aware the citizens are about the consequences of carelessness or infringement of road rules, the fewer accident victims we will have said Samaniya Bhat the member of edge.

The volunteeres and students appealed the motorists to follow the road safety rules and to travel within the reccomended speed limits.

It is the responsibility of every driver on the roads to obey the road rules to ensure that other people driving on the same road are safe this will help all of us said one of the volunteer.

Shabaz Nawaz said “SHO Yasar Bin Ghulam Qadir incharge mandi police station did a great work and his contribution as an individual was also commendible. We  are thankfull to him for his contribution and support.

SSP Sopore encouraged and thanked the edge and other volunteers for the drive and asked them to continue these types of activities.
