Jammu, Jan 25: Expressing serious concern over hardship being faced by border residents, Chairman of Team Jammu Zorawar Singh Jamwal today regretted that BJP leadership has made helpless dwellers of borders as ‘cannon fodder’ for petty politics.
He said that miseries of border residents are increasing with every passing day but those at the helm of the affairs have adopted casual approach.
Addressing border residents at various places after distributing blankets and eatables to the affected people putting up at various relief camps, Mr Zorawar Singh Jamwal rued that despite Jammu’s representation at the higher level at Delhi, no serious efforts have been taken by the Union Government to permanently solved problems of border residents.
“On the one hand our Lok Sabha member from Udhampur-Doda, Dr Jatindra Singh is Minister of State (MoS) in the Prime Minister’s Office while on the other hand Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad also belongs to this region but unfortunately people are feeling helpless and unheard by the Delhi. This is a golden opportunity where Jammu Province have two important political bigwigs one on Treasury benches while another in opposition in the Parliament, to resolve the issue of border people once for all by rehabilitating them at safer zones, followed by befitting and forceful reply to Pakistan”, Mr Zorawar Singh Jamwal said and warned political leadership against doing petty politics on this humanitarian issue.
