Pulwama, Jan 24: Clashes erupted between Government Forces and protesters after Forces laid a siege of Nownagri Palapora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday afternoon.
Reports said that after receiving inputs about the presence of militants in the area, government forces cordoned off the area and started the search operation.
Witnesses said that local youth took to roads and pelted stones on search parties. The Forces responded with tear-smoke shells.
Police sources said that at least two Hizb militants were believed to be present in the area.
Latest reports said that the clashes were going on while the village is filled with chilly smoke. (CNS)
